For Megan's birthday, I planned a squirrel theme, as she is all about animals and there used to be a squirrel in the apple tree out front that the girls would watch. The girls are convinced every squirrel they see out there is Rose again. I made a couple round cakes and cut them to shape, following a silhouette I found and printed from the internet. I had been dreading the job, but then actually had fun with it. A 5th birthday seemed like a reason to do something a little less easy. : ) We ate this cake at our family birthday party and I did other squirrel themed things for her little friend party. Pin the acorn on the squirrel, musical acorns, a squirrel craft... not super original, but she loved it!
