the zoo

We went to the zoo yesterday, daddy even took a day off work to come with us. It was a good thing he did too, because the jeep began acting up, though we decided to continue our day at the zoo and get it towed or somthing, later on in the day. The first animals we saw were probably the best in my opinion~ a baby giraffe and zebras. That 8 foot tall baby was actually running clumsily around, so fascinating to see that in real life. I think giraffes are one of my favorite animals to watch at a zoo. A wanted to see penguins the most and the girls ran and giggled and watched them swim around, as the glass shows under the water as well. M really wanted to see elephants, but they walked away as we got there and didn't come out again. Surprisingly, they both loved the snakes, lizards and frogs! J showed me that she is no baby anymore, she was just as interested in the animals and exclaiming over them as much as the girls were. But it was cold, we almost did not have enough sweatshirts to keep warm and then Ben's phone battery died, causing us to not have as much info needed to figure out what to do about the jeep. We ended up going to an auto store, talking to a mechanic and decided to give it a go getting home, the engine was shaky at low speeds, but we made it and now Ben will do some work on it to see if we can avoid taking it to the shop. But all in all, we had a fun day watching animals. Then on the way home, we asked the girls what they liked the best at the zoo and M responded with, "the stamps". You know, the hand stamp you get on your way out so that you can come back in. : )
