back to the store-bought detergent

Just an update on my homemade dishwashing detergent...it's been 4 months of it and it's just not working very well. Mabye there are other concoctions out there, but for now we are going back to the Costco brand. It's a decent price and beats nearly washing the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. I just don't like it when the dishes have residue on them that you can't see but can feel! With the kids loading and unloading the dishwasher, I need something a little more reliable too. So there you go, it doesn't sound very exciting and radically homemade, but it works. : )
